WHY YOU SHOULD NOT CONSUME RAW EGGS

Owing to their numerous health benefits, eggs are a popular breakfast option and are enjoyed scrambled, poached, as a filling, or as an omelet.

But there are some people who also consume raw eggs, especially egg whites, to meet their protein requirements. Is it advisable, though?

Answering the same, Karishma Shah, integrative nutritionist and health coach, said that while egg white contains mainly protein, the yolk contains both proteins and good fats.

Thus, it is important to have the whole egg, instead of skipping one portion of it.

Moreover, Shah said that raw egg whites can lead to salmonella, a common bacterial disease that affects the intestinal tract.

It is recommended to cook eggs as it prevents such problems as well as improves digestion, according to the expert.
